Mission
- To advance the understanding of MTUG members of the technical and regulatory telecommunications issues throughout the state in an educational environment.
- To provide economic and social benefits to MTUG members, Maine businesses and residents by working with telecommunications services providers and legislative and regulatory agencies to enhance the telecommunicatins infrastructure and services in Maine.
Membership
There is no membership fee to participate in MTUG's regular monthly meetings. Meeting notices are sent to all members via email.
To become an MTUG member, email your name, company name, mailing address, phone number and email ID to Marge Stockford, MTUG's Executive Director (marjoriestockford@comcast.net) with "MTUG Membership" in the Subject line. She will add you to the MTUG database and you will begin receiving emails about upcoming MTUG meetings and events.
Meetings
Monthly meetings are held at members' sites on the first Wednesday morning of the month from 9 am to noon from September through December and February through April. Topics discussed typically include:
- New technology, equipment or service presentations
- End-user equipment, network or systems implementations
- Update on state and national regulatory issues
- Fraud alerts/Security updates
- Telecommunications job openings
Conference
The MTUG year ends with an Annual Conference typically held in late May/early June in Portland. The Conference includes more than three dozen vendor displays, a series of educational workshops and a nationally known keynote speaker. Revenues from the Conference fund MTUG's educational and information exchange throughout the year.
